Self-Defense Items You Can Easily Carry In Your Car

Defending yourself whether you’re taking the dog for a walk, going for a jog on your favorite trail, or having your car break down while you’re alone in the middle of nowhere is an important personal safety practice. If you haven’t quite been trained in martial arts or Krav Maga, these five self-defense items can easily be purchased and stored in your glove box.

  1. Pepper Spray

Pepper spray has been one of the most common self-defense tools since being invented in the 60s when it was referred to as Mace. It comes in an aerosol can so it can be sprayed quickly and easily, and when your attacker is hit with it, it causes intense pain and a burning sensation in the eyes, nose, mouth, and lungs. Temporary blindness can be experienced and the effects can last anywhere from half an hour to two hours.

  1. Stun Ring

Stun rings work just like stun guns, only they’re a bit smaller and can be concealed in the palm of your hand and worn around your finger. Once the safety is off, you simply just have to tighten your grip in order to activate it.

Just because it’s smaller doesn’t mean it’s any less powerful. It will stop your attacker as it jolts them and causes their muscles to involuntarily spazz. It can take them around ten minutes to recover from their disorientation.

  1. Lipstick Taser

Lipstick tasers are affordable and easy-to-use at a moment’s notice. They’re rechargeable and completely discreet as they look exactly like your regular tube of lipstick. Just take the cap off and press the button. It will stun and disable the attacker as it releases three million volts.

  1. Gun Storage

Vehicle gun safety is just as important as keeping yourself safe. If you purchase a small gun, it’s best to get a top-rated gun safe to go along with it. Even with it being kept in a secure safe, it’s still easily accessible, but it keeps you and your family safe. There are also 27 states that have a safe storage law in order to protect children from any potential harm. Gun safes come in many different shapes and sizes and can be mounted under your seat, in the back of a truck, etc. Don’t worry about having to fumble for your keys to unlock it – they have quick and easy passcode or fingerprint locks.

  1. Tactical Pen

Just like a lipstick taser, the tactical pen is a discreet way to carry a self-defense weapon. They’re affordable, lightweight, and acts as a pen and a self-defense weapon.

It’s thicker than a regular ballpoint pen, but its grip is comfortable and both ends can be used to strike your attacker. The pen is sharp, and the other end is made to break glass, so if an attacker is hit with either end, they’ll be keeling over with pain and back off.
